WELCOME to Improved Health!

Hi! My name is Jules (a.k.a Julie) and I am thrilled to welcome you here! I work as a Recreation
Therapist (over 25 years with 15+ years specifically with seniors), have my Group Fitness
and Senior Fitness Instructor qualifications and have also owned a personal training business in the past.

When the pandemic started, I knew a lot of people could no longer attend their gym or community center, so I decided to record fitness workouts that I hoped would help others. My goal was to inspire and motivate people to continue exercising from home.


My hope is that you'll find workouts here to help you become active, and remain active. If you're just starting out, you can find plenty of gentle seated and standing workouts below which would be a great starting point. If you're looking for something a little more challenging, the beginner and intermediate workouts might be more your speed.

Whether you're a senior, or someone younger just looking for more gentle workouts, congratulations for taking the step to becoming more active. Your future self will thank you!

Gentle exercise workouts are designed for anyone new to exercise, for those with mobility or various health issues, and for people returning to exercise after an injury or illness. These classes are safe, heart-healthy, and designed to be manageable for those who want a gentle exercise program. Just remember, a journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.

"Like most people during the lockdowns at the start of the covid pandemic, I found myself at home unable to go anywhere. I will admit I wasn’t the fittest person in the world, I avoided exercise and gyms. As the days went on and my daily routine was totally changed I felt the need to do something to get moving and sort my then 55 year old body into shape. I tried a few of the well known fitness videos on YouTube but I found they talked too much, or they had me jumping about. I have joint issues so burpees and the like were definitely off limits for me.

Then one night I found Improved Health. I watched a few of the videos from the comfort of my bed! I was hooked. The next day I started one of the videos. It was only 20 minutes long. It was awesome. I could do the moves and boy did I feel the workout. It was then I realised just how out of shape I was. Unlike the other channels Jules managed to keep me focused. There are workouts for every level and ability. They range from short 10 minutes workouts to 90 minutes plus ( I managed one of those recently). You never bet bored. Jules hardly talks but when she does its to make sure you are getting the most from the workout and doing it safely. My favourites are the combined cardio, strength and balance workouts (all-in-ones). When I started I was using 1lbweights, I am now on 9lb weights. When I miss working out for whatever reason I can feel it in my body. I have been following Jules for 3 years now. I love the variety of choice and that she truly cares about what she does. So give her channel a try. You won’t be disappointed."
